10th Annual Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Festival in Scottsdale

PHOENIX — The tenth annual Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Festival heads to Scottsdale this weekend.

The festival, which features more than 20 hot air balloons on display, will take place Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Salt River Fields, event organizers said in a press release.

There will also be over 4,000 pounds of candy, live music, food and drink, and tethered balloon rides.

The free kids zone will feature 30 slides and attractions, including bouncy houses, slides and an obstacle course.

Adults and children will also have the chance to show off their best costumes in the nightly contests, which begin at 7 p.m., for a chance to win a variety of prizes.

Admission to the event is $22 for adults and $17 for children ages 3-12. Children between 0 and 2 years old will have free entry.

Attendees can also purchase separate tickets to ride the hot air balloon, with tickets starting at $25 for adults and $15 for ages 10 and under.

Additionally, event-goers can donate dry food to Musically Fed, a non-profit organization that aims to mobilize the music industry in the fight against hunger.

Items that will be accepted include cans of pasta, oatmeal, cereal, nuts, canned fruit, soup and dried beans.
