Erie, Colorado’s annual event draws more than 20,000 people to town each year as it is an old-fashioned fun and balloon launch event.
Bring the family early, as the event starts Saturday and Sunday mornings at 6 a.m.
Erie hosts many community events, but this is the biggest of the year, a fun way for the family to start participating in summer events.

Reverend Richard J. Van Valkenburg of Erie, Pennsylvania helped found Erie, Colorado, naming it after his hometown. In the late 1800s, Erie’s coal mines helped power steam locomotives.
