The Strathaven Hot Air Balloon Festival will take place at the end of the month and locals can have fun for free.
The event will take place from Friday August 26th to Sunday August 28th at Strathaven Park, a range of entertainment will be available to visitors on Saturday and Sunday including music, dancers, birds of prey, a funfair and a range of stands.

The hot air balloons are expected to arrive on the Friday of the festival and, weather permitting, there will be hot air balloon rides after 6 p.m.
There will also be balloon launches on Saturday and Sunday around 6:30 a.m. and just after 6 p.m. (weather permitting).
The Sky Masters from Skydive Strathallan will be at the park Saturday and Sunday at 3pm to skydive and show off their skills.

On Saturday evening, the ‘Evening Glow’ will begin where spectators can see colorful balloons light up against the backdrop of the night sky.
Raffle tickets will be available and prizes include a chance to fly in a hot air balloon.
The Strathaven Hot Air Balloon Festival started in 1999 and now attracts over 30,000 visitors over the weekend of events. The festival is funded by donations and sponsorships.
