Local businesswoman selected to build homemade balloon exhibits | Local News

A Harker Heights businesswoman will help create a “balloon wonderland” in Orlando, Florida for four days in July.

Noelia Rivera, owner of NJP Balloons Decor and More, has been selected from a team of international balloon professionals to create a Qualatex-sponsored balloon wonderland that will use over 300,000 balloons for charity Give Kids the World in Orlando from July 11 to 15.

According to a press release received on Tuesday, Rivera will help create several themed areas, including “Toyland,” an enchanted forest, and “Under the Sea.” The exhibit will span approximately 30,000 square feet with some screens reaching up to 24 feet.

The event will serve to support seriously ill children across the United States.

The organizer hopes to provide “families with joyful moments that can lead to lasting memories, turning happiness into hope.”

Give Kids the World is a non-profit organization that, since 1986, has sought to provide free week-long “dream vacations” to seriously ill children and families around the world.

“During this week of transformation at Give Kids the World, let’s want families to have the chance to laugh, play and be together. Allowing families to step away from the reality of the deadly disease and the journey of the fighter littered with doctor’s appointments, painful treatments, overwhelming expenses, and endless worry. Instead, families can reclaim precious time,” the statement read.

Rivera’s business is located at 740 S. Amy Lane, Suite 101, in Harker Heights.
