The Plant City Balloon Festival will take place on Friday and Saturday, October 21 and 22 at the Strawberry Festival Grounds in Plant City.
Come and see the unique giant and colorful hot air balloons up close and enjoy a family day out.
This family event will also offer much more than hot air balloons. There will be vendor markets with a variety of items for sale and varied food vendors. The hot air balloon festival will also feature DJs and live music, a kids zone, magicians, jugglers, traveling performers and many other great festival experiences.
Not only can you see some amazing hot air balloons, but you can also check that bucket list item by taking a ride on a captive hot air balloon. Attached rides will cost $25 per person, weather permitting.
There will also be a light and laser night show twice a night at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. which will begin with a countdown to light up the balloons. The show incorporates synchronized music, pyrotechnics and visually stunning coordinated burns from hot air balloons and high-powered lasers creating a nighttime glow like you’ve never seen before.
Bring your blankets and chairs to set up your own vantage point. Coolers or outside food and drink will not be permitted. Doors will open at 5 p.m.
Balloon inflation will take place when winds are light enough to be safe and will be announced. If the balloons cannot be set up due to rain or high winds, there will still be a laser show and fire ring around 9 p.m. There will be announcements and updates via the PA system near the stage.
Tickets include free parking, festival entry and the hot air balloon show with live music. The kid’s area, food vendors, and attached rides are additional. In the event of bad weather preventing the inflation of the balloons, your tickets may be valid for another day or another show.
Pets other than service dogs are not recommended as the noise from the “burner” of hot air balloons is loud and often disturbing to dogs.
Advance tickets are $22 for adults and $10 for children 17 and under, with children 5 and under free. Tickets will be available at the door for an additional $30 for adults and $15 for children.
