Spooktacular Balloon Festival Offers the Opportunity to Have a Bird’s-Eye View of the Lehigh Valley | Lehigh Valley Regional News

SLATINGTON, Pa. — More than a dozen hot air balloons will take off and soar over Slatington Airport over the weekend.

“It started going crazy around me because it’s my first time doing it,” Evan Kowalski told 69 News after being in a hot air balloon for the first time.

There are more than 50 vendors at this year’s Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Festival, along with rides, games for the kids, opportunities for tricks or treats, and plenty of places to eat.

“I took a bunch of pictures from the top and it’s really neat because it has all these booths lit up so you can see a lot of really cool stuff,” Cassie Boylin said after snapping some pictures of the basket. of a balloon that floated high above the track.

There was a Halloween-themed laser light show on Friday night, and there will be fireworks on Saturday.

“We’re having a lot of fun. We were enjoying the bouncy house, the food was great…I love it,” Joel Kowalski told 69 News.

The festival lasts until Sunday. Hot air balloon rides typically last from 45 minutes to just over an hour and can reach altitudes of around 3,000 feet.

“It was so peaceful, so cool up there. It was awesome,” Joel says. “It’s amazing because everything looks like ants. It’s really cool because you can see everything around you,” Evan added.
