SWLA Hot Air Balloon Festival Returns

Lake Charles, La. (KPLC) – The SWLA Hot Air Balloon Festival returns after a two-year hiatus, and the best part is that the air show’s first major festival will be held right here in Lake Charles.

The summer event will have live music, food vendors and sparkle balloons on both nights. It will be held at the Ecuries du Bocage on June 10 and 11 from 4 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

All to raise money for “Reins of Hope,” a therapeutic horseback riding program that helps children facing unique challenges through horse-assisted activities and adaptive riding.

“We’re raising money for Reins of Hope, which is equine therapy for children with autism or who have had difficulties in their lives – and adults in some cases,” said Brandon Beard, CEO of Brangineers Marketing Firm. “They’ve learned through research that horses really, really help with some of these things.”

All live shows are local.

“We have Wayne Toups, we have Dustin Sonnier, we have local favorite the Flamethrowers, we have Three Beards – and he is right here in Lake Charles. And they’re actually in the Top 100. They filmed their video right here in downtown Lake Charles and they’re our headliner on Saturday night, and we’re super excited,” Beard said.
